First Aid Courses

This is a 3 day course.  The higher risk organisations such as construction, the HSE suggests at least 1 First Aider, 1 Emergency First Aid at Work and 1 additional First Aider for every 50 people employed.  Consideration should also be given when employees are working on sites to ensure adequate coverage.

This is a 2 day course designed for people who hold a current First Aid At Work qualification.  Upon successful completion of the 2 day refresher, a further certificate is issued and is valid for 3 years.

This course is designed for people to be able to administer emergency first aid.  A certificate of achievement is issued from continual assessment by the trainer during the days course.

SMSTS - SSSTS Courses

This is a 5 day course and is suitable for all Construction Managers including Project Managers and Site Supervisors.

The course is an industry recognised standard and is designed to give managers and supervisors a good understanding of their responsibilities regarding Health and Safety and Welfare on site.
The course covers Health and Safety at Work Act, Site Set-up, Risk Assessment/Method Statements, CDM Regs 07, Working At Heights, Scaffolding, Demolition, Electricity, Excavations, Confined Spaces and recent changes in accepted working practices. When successfully completed the certificate is valid for 5 years after which a 2 day refresher will be required.

This 2 day course is designed for Managers/Supervisors who currently hold a current 5 day SMSTS certificate which now needs to be renewed.  Please note that you can only go on the 2 day course if your certificate is still in date. Upon successful completion another certificate is issued which will be valid for a further 5 years.

This one day course is designed for Supervisors who currently hold a current two day SSSTS certificate which now needs to be renewed. Asbestos Courses

A 1/2 day course which is essential for all people who work in areas that potentially could obtain asbestos.  It is designed to make workers aware of the dangers to health, where asbestos may be contained and what to do if they come across it.

This can be either a 1/2 day or 1 day course and covers a background to the legal requirements regarding risk assessments, identifying risks, prevention & protection measures, identifying hazards, format & content of a risk assessment, production and monitoring of method statement.

With back injuries still being one of the main reasons for sickness, this 1/2 day course will cover techniques both manual and mechanical on how to lift correctly to help prevent injury.

A 1/2 day course which covers the hazards in the use of abrasive wheels, provision and use of work regulations, inspection and testing, storing, transportation, identifying different wheels and speeds, correct mounting of the wheels, practical changing of a wheels.

PASMA Training

A one day course which covers the Health and Safety legislation affecting the use of mobile towers.  Working at Height regulations, hazards associated with the use of mobile towers, practical exercise in the erection, inspection and dismantling tower, completion of documentation. A 1 day course combining a practical exercise resulting in a nationally recognised PASMA accredited certificate.
